FAILSWORTH Carnival weekend starts on Saturday at noon at Lord Lane playing fields, with the carnival parade leaving there at 1pm. Sunday’s family fun day starts at noon and activities include children’s entertainers, It’s a Knockout, hog roast, bonny baby, prize draw, fun fair, stalls and much more.
FAILSWORTH residents can help keep the community safe by attending a Homewatch meeting on Thursday at the Broadbent Luncheon Club, Lord Lane, Failsworth, from 7.30pm.
TEENS aged 13 to 19 can learn to cook and taste new foods at Free Food Friday at Limehurst Integrated Youth Centre, Farm Road, on Friday, from 5 to 8pm. For more details call 0161-770 5683.
WOODHOUSES Church, in Ashton Road, Woodhouses, is holding an Afternoon Strawberry Cream Tea on Saturday (16), at 2pm, with Christine at the piano. Admission is £3, in aid of church funds.
BABIES up to 12 months old can learn, explore and grow at a social session for children, parents and carers on Monday at Failsworth Children’s Centre, Propps Hall Drive, 3.15 to 4.30pm.
SHARE creative ideas at the Failsworth Library writing group on Monday, from 5.30 to 7pm. The informal group meets at the library in Oldham Road. For more details call 0161-770 5820.
JOIN the Failsworth and Beyond Womens Institute on Wednesday, July 20, for a humorous talk by Kate Dibble, Blue Badge tour guide, entitled “The Trials and Tribulations of a Tour Guide”, at Middleton and Chadderton Sea Cadets Unit, 265a Oldham Road, Failsworth, 7.30pm.
