THE Failsworth Carnival Committee meets tonight (7.30) to start discussing next year’s event.
Anyone wanting to join or volunteer is invited to attend 248 Scout Hut on Derby Street, off Oldham Road.
SAVE a life at a blood-donor session on Friday at Holy Family Church, Lord Lane, Failsworth, between 1.15 and 3.30pm, and 5.15-7.30pm.
ITS back to school on Monday for staff at Failsworth School, Brierley Avenue, following the summer break. The school will reopen to pupils the following day.
ENJOY a chinwag among friends at Hollinwood Friendship Club on Monday at Beulah Baptist and United Reformed Church, Withins Road, Hollinwood, 1.30 to 3.30pm. New members welcome.

JOIN Failsworth Historical Society on Wednesday for a talk about the Rochdale and Ashton canals by speaker Richard Unwin entitled “The Humane Society for the Salford Hundred” at Broadbent Luncheon Club, Lord Lane, 7pm.
THE Failsworth and Beyond Women’s Institute meet on Wednesday, September 21, for a talk about life afloat by Chris Leah, of The Wooden Canal Boat Society at Middleton & Chadderton Sea Cadets Unit, 265a Oldham Road, Failsworth, from 7.30pm.
