COME along to the Failsworth Townswomen’s Guild meeting tonight at Failsworth Town Hall, Oldham Road, 7.30pm. New members and visitors welcome.
“CORONATION Street” fans should join Failsworth Historical Society tomorrow for a talk entitled “50 Years on the Cobbles” by guest speaker Mark Llewellyn at Broadbent Luncheon Club, Lord Lane, Failsworth, 7pm. All welcome.
PARENTS and families can attend an open day at Failsworth School on Thursday between 6 and 8pm. There will be exhibitions and opportunities to meet staff and headt eacher John Meagher.
NEXT year’s Failsworth Carnival weekend will be on May 19 and 20. The annual fundraising event at Lord Lane playing fields is normally held in July but has been moved to avoid clashing with the London 2012 Olympics.
ENJOY the Boarshurst Band’s concert on Sunday at Beulah Baptist Church and United Reform Church, Withins Road, Hollinwood, 2pm. Admission £4. All welcome.
BUDDING authors can find out what publishers are really looking for during a talk called “Is There a Novelist In the House?” by Martin de Mello on Monday at Failsworth Library, Oldham Road, 5.30 to 7pm. To book, call 0161-770 8016/8010. Other talks will be held on October 17 and 24.
