Fun-day for Harley
Date published: 22 February 2012
BIG-HEARTED businesses have been raising funds for Harley Hesford’s life-changing operation in America.
Failsworth-based travel agent Pole Travel and pubs The Anglers, The Bay and The Windmill joined forces to organise a family fun-day which saw charity football matches between the pubs, a raffle with prizes including champagne and hampers, and a night of entertainment showcasing local acts.
All money raised will go towards helping Harley (8), who was born with cerebral palsy. He needs to secure £40,000 before he can travel to America for the operation, which his family hope will help him to walk.
£29,000 has already been raised, but the family still need a further £6,000 to put towards the £35,000 operation costs which needs to be paid a month in advance of the April 6 procedure.
Anyone with outstanding donations can send money in by following the instructions on http://harleysquest. moonfruit.com where there is also more information on upcoming charity events.
