Guild awards

JOIN Failsworth Townswomen’s Guild tonight for its March Open Night, at Failsworth Town Hall, Oldham Road, at 7.30pm. It will include a play, tombola and presentation of awards.



BOOK your tickets for the Failsworth Old People’s Welfare Association annual party at the Millgate pub, Ashton Road West, on April 11 and 12, for Failsworth or Woodhouses residents aged 70 or over. Tickets are £1, refundable on the day, and are available from tomorrow from Lord Lane Luncheon Club and Failsworth Town Hall, Oldham Road.


A CRAFT and gift fair will be held on Saturday at the Macedonia Church, Ashton Road East, Failsworth, 10am-4pm. Stalls include sweet/chocolate bouquets, hair accessories, hand-made bags and hats, cupcakes, jewellery and cards. Funds raised will go to the church and Francis House Hospice, Didsbury.



KEEN walkers can take part in a Medlock Meander on Sunday, starting at 10.30am at Strindesdale Country Park car park. Look for wild life while walking along the Medlock Valley to Daisy Nook. For more details call 0161-770 4056.



MEMBERS of Hollinwood Canal Society can enjoy a boat trip on Sunday along the Lower Peak Forest Canal, from Dukinfield to Marple Locks and back. Places are limited, book by calling 01457-836 273.

GET moving with Limeside’s new boy and girl dance groups Urban Fury and Urban Angels at Limeside Tenants’ Hut, Blackthorn Road. Sessions for Under 16s and Under12s are on Mondays 6pm-7.30pm; Under9s and Under6s on Fridays 6pm-8pm, plus an Under9s class on Saturday 11am-1pm.
