Mai Chatham discusses the Chernobyl Children’s Project at the Over 60s Club, which meets at The Pavilion, Garden Suburb, on Thursday, from 2.30pm. Admission is £1.50 and includes tea and biscuits.
JOIN staff at Daisy Nook on Thursday and Friday for half-term fun. Children will have a free 45 minutes of learning about herbs, fruit and vegetables, in the Grow Your Own Section, from 11.30am. There’s a free gift for every child who takes part.

A FESTIVAL of fire and water takes place at the Failsworth Basin on Saturday. “Illuminate” is a family-friendly event which highlights the regeneration work around the Rochdale Canal. It starts at 7pm and is funded by Arts Council England.

FAMILIES with children under eight are invited to attend Adults and Children Together on Sunday (ACTS) on Sunday, at Roman Road Independent Methodist Church. RAINBOWS and Brownies meet at St Margaret’s Church every Tuesday. Rainbows, girls aged 5-7, meet from 6.15 to 7.15pm, and brownies, aged 7-11, meet from 6.30 to 8pm.
