ROCHDALE Canal in Failsworth is to be illuminated with waterfalls of fire, giant lanterns and state-of-the-art pyrotechnics.
The Oldham Council-organised event “Illuminate” is a festival of fire and water on Saturday (7.30pm-9.30pm).
It’s the first event in the “Shine” programme, Oldham’s contribution to the North-West’s Cultural Olympiad.
Local artists and community groups will highlight the canal’s regeneration and encourage its use.
The family-friendly event is free and takes place in the Failsworth Canal Basin, off Ashton Road West.
