PITCH your place on the streets of Failsworth on Saturday to guarantee the best view of the Day Parade that kicks off this year’s Failsworth Golden Jubilee Carnival.
Celebrating the 50th year of the carnival, decorated floats and a fun fair will fill your day with fun. And on Sunday, get yourself to Lord Lane Playing Fields for a family day with magicians, tombolas and much more.
RAISE funds for the Beulah Baptist & United Reformed Church, Withins Road, Hollinwood, by dropping in on an afternoon tea and book stall on Saturday, 2.30pm-3.30pm. Admission costs £1 and includes refreshments.
SHHH . . . and eyes down. Join the Failsworth Townwomen’s Guild next Tuesday at Failsworth Town Hall for a silent auction and game of bingo. For more information, contact Ray Burns on 0161-684 8258.
SPRUCE up your garden before summer arrives, by indulging in new plants and second-hand gardening equipment, on sale at Roman Road IM Church, Failsworth, on Saturday from 10am-noon. Refreshments will be served throughout, and during the Failsworth Carnival.

A planning application to turn a hairdressers into a residential dwelling, submitted on March 19, has been accepted. Headroom, a unisex hairdressers at 861 Hollins Road, Oldham, will now be turned into a house.
