THE Senior Open Access Group, usually held on Tuesdays at Collier Hill Tenants’ Hall, Vaal Street, will not go ahead next Tuesday, June 5, due to the Bank Holiday.

MORE than £5,000 was raised at the 50th Failsworth Carnival through gate prices, tombolas and raffles. The money will be given as grants to local voluntary groups such as residents’ associations, brownies, cubs and sports groups. An application form to receive a grant will soon be uploaded to the Failsworth Carnival website, at www.failsworthcarnival.btik.com.
CELEBRATE the new Oldham Film Festival and get involved with the monthly Film Club, for ages 13-20, at Failsworth Library. “Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part One” is the first film to be shown next Thursday. Email kate.smyth@oldham.gov.uk to book a ticket.
A RANGE of different sports and activities are available for youths to get involved with at Failsworth Sports Centre every week. The centre, on Brierley Avenue,hosts sports including basketball, badminton, table tennis, swimming and street cheer, among many others. SWING for six on Friday at Woodhouses Cricket Club, when they take on Dukinfield Dynamos in a Twenty20 cricket tournament. The match starts at 6pm.
