MEET up with like-minded carers at the Childminder Drop-in session at Failsworth Children’s Centre every Thursday between 9.30am- 12.30pm.


Registered childminders can come together to share ideas, network and to have fun with other carers and the children they look after.


AN application for four new houses at the site of the old Star Inn, 69 Church Street, Failsworth, has been accepted. The new three-storey houses will be situated on the corner of Roman Road. Building must begin within three years.

PLANS for a 2.4m-high mesh perimeter fence around Higher Failsworth Primary School, Stansfield Road, have been accepted.


STUDENTS from Oasis Academy will take part in a public-speaking competition at the school on Thursday from 7pm. The competition will demonstrate the students’ ability to speak about controversial issues, and parents and local residents are invited to attend the event to also get a sneak peek at the new building.


THE Failsworth Rush Hour Reading Group takes place at Failsworth Library on Thursday between 5.30 and 6.30pm to discuss new reads, discover new authors and explore new books. CHURCHES of Failsworth are uniting for a Songs of Praise afternoon on Sunday, July 1. Meeting at St Mary’s Church, Clive Road, Failsworth, favourite hymns will be sung as well as readings and prayers being delivered. Contact St. Mary’s Church for more information on 0161 681 1835.
