Failsworth and Hollinwood Park and ride

PLANS for a new park-and-ride facility near the Hollinwood Metrolink stop have been accepted. A two-level car park will comprise 195 spaces, including 12 for the disabled. The vacant scrub land on Hudson Street is around 350 yards from the tram stop.

MAKE the most of Hollinwood Children’s Centre for all your health needs. There’s an ante natal clinic on Tuesdays between 9am-1pm, a smoking cessation group on Wednesdays between 9.30am-noon. Eye tests, are available every Thursday between 9am-noon, at the centre on Lime Green Parade.
THE annual meeting for the Hollinwood Canal Society will now be held in the Community Room at Ashton Fire Station as the Dog and Partridge pub is no longer available. This year’s annual meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 18, at 7.30pm. Call 01457-836 273 to confirm your attendance.
TAKE A brisk Sunday walk with the Oldham Garden Suburb Association Walking Group on Sunday, as they wander through Marple Locks and Brabyns Park. Meet by the bowling green in Marple Memorial Park at 2pm for the two-hour stroll.
