Summer fun

A WHOLE host of activities are available for the children of Limeside during the summer holidays.

With a range of different sports taking place most weekdays, your youngsters are sure to never be bored.

The sessions, for 8-16-years-olds, are available between 1 and 3pm, Wednesday to Friday, with evening slots between 6 and 8 on offer Tuesday to Thursday. Olympic fun sessions are a must for all the family on Fridays between 4 and 9pm at the park off First Avenue.


MEMBERS of the Failsworth Townwomen’s Guild recently presented a cheque for £5,000 to charity Help for Heroes.

Christine Oakland, a member of the charity, gave a talk and also explained how the money is used. The group will now make a decision as to which charity to support for the next two years. Telephone secretary Rae Burns on 0161-684 8258 if you have any suggestions.


THE annual meeting of the Hollinwood Canal Society will be held tomorrow at its new venue, Ashton Fire Station, in Moss Lane, Audenshaw. The meeting will start at 7.30pm and contact 01457 836273 if you wish to attend.


BOOK a spot for your child at the Failsworth Holiday Club, beginning on July 23 and running until August 24. Activities include dodgeball, football, arts and crafts and much more.
