Festival of delights on Rochdale Canal
Date published: 17 August 2012
THE annual Rochdale Canal Festival comes up on Saturday.
May attractions are planned over the nine days to Sunday, August 26, bringing to life one of the region’s most historic waterways.
Catch a promenade theatre performance along the canal in Failsworth or enjoy the canalside view and listen to a poet at Failsworth Library.
The festival will also offer lots of taster sessions, including free angling and canoeing sessions.
A canal relay will run the length of the waterway, and comes through Oldham on August 24.
You can also join in the wider festival from Sowerby Bridge to Manchester, which features everything from a 91-lock poetry trail, outdoor cinema screenings, guided walks, bike rides, boating, wildlife events, lantern walks and much more.
