Park patrols

POLICE are targeting anti-social behaviour in the Higher Memorial Park, Failsworth, after damage was caused by youths.



The Oldham Road park will now see increased high-visibility patrols and stop searches being carried out in the area.



TEENS are invited to try new activities while making new friends in Limehurst.

The Limehurst Integrated Youth Centre, in Farm Road, will be holding a youth session between 6 and 9pm tomorrow when youngsters aged between 13 and 19 can take part in table tennis, pool, games, cookery, social education, sports and arts.

RESIDENTS are being urged to stay vigilant after several cars around Brookdale Park were stolen or broken into.

Many older model vehicles have been targeted during the night, according to the Failsworth and Hollinwood neighbourhood policing team. Operation Concho has now been set up to tackle the problem.



FAILSWORTH Salvation Army is now holding fun and games sessions on Friday evenings for local children. The Oldham Road organisation runs the classes between 6.15-7.30pm for youngsters aged five to 11, with arts, crafts and games. For more information, contact Lynley Oliver on 0161-682 0070.



A SPATE of fires around the allotments in Stott Street has seen a clampdown on youths in the area. Youths found in the area will be stopped by police and will have their details taken, pending further action.



A POLICE surgery will be held tonight, 7-8pm at the New Life Church, Thorley Street, Failsworth.
