Royal Mail set to deliver big changes
Date published: 07 September 2012
THE imminent closure of the Royal Mail’s Failsworth delivery office will mean big changes to the way local post is distributed.
Royal Mail is writing to everyone in the area over the next few weeks before the closure next month.
All 20 workers at the Ashton Road East site will transfer to Oldham. Local residents will also have to travel into Oldham to pick up undeliverable items.
Postal workers will introduce new delivery methods and routes in Failsworth. The plan is to continue morning deliveries and introduce more during the day so that as many customers as possible get their mail before lunchtime.
