A NUMBER of wing mirrors have been stolen from Mercedes cars in Failsworth. Police believe the parts are being taken to order from the Lime Lane and Stockburn Drive areas.

The thefts have mainly occurred at the weekend.


PLANNING permission has been granted for a former Failsworth pub to be reopened as a residential home. The Brookdale, in Coronation Road, is to be converted and will include a 13-space car park, with two disabled spaces, and a single-storey extension. No letters of objection were received by the council.


POLICE have vowed to clamp down on anti-social behaviour and criminal damage in Failsworth. Reports have been received about incidents at the site of the old Star Inn, mainly on weekday evenings. Increased patrols have since been implemented in the area.


BLOOD donor sessions will take place at Holy Family Church, Lord Lane, on October 12. The sessions will run between 1.15 and 3.30pm and 5.15 and 7.30pm.


PARENTS and carers are invited to bring their babies to free, fun play sessions at the Failsworth Children’s Centre, Propps Hall Drive, every Friday between 10.15 and 11.30am. All babies aged new-born to one are welcome.


AFTER a break of 20 years, a local amateur dramatic society will be treading the boards again. Woodhouses Church Dramatic Society stages JB Priestley’s “When We Are Married” from September 20 and 22. Tickets for the 7.30pm performances cost £6 each, with discounted tickets for concessions available for the September 20 performance.
