GET into the carnival spirit by signing up for this year’s 51st Failsworth Carnival, being held on the weekend of June 8 and 9.

GARDENING advice for the year ahead will be available tomorrow at Failsworth and Beyond Women’s Institute’s latest meeting. Guest speaker is Paul Tyson, from Daisy Nook Country Park. The meeting is held at Middleton and Chadderton Sea Cadets Unit, 265a Oldham Road, at 7.30pm. Refreshments and raffle. All welcome.
EYES down for a prize bingo night at Limehurst Tenants Hall, Blackthorn Road on Thursday, from 7.30 to 10pm. Run by Limehurst Tenants’ Association, the event is for over 16s only.
HELP save a life by giving blood on Friday at Holy Family Church, Lord Lane, Failsworth. Sessions are held from 1.15-3.30pm and 5.15-7.30pm. Call 0300-123 23 23 to find out if you are eligible to donate.

FANS of comic operas can enjoy Woodhouses Church Amateur Operatic Society’s production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Iolanthe” in the church hall on April 27, 30 and May 1-4. Christine Taylor produces a cast of familiar faces, assisted by MD Pat Jacques, and Andrea Marshall takes the lead role. Tickets on the door.
