ENJOY a talk at Failsworth Historical Society tomorrow with guest speaker Frida Millett entitled “Scattered Homes” about local homeless children of the past, their care, trials and experiences. Broadbent Luncheon Club, Lord Lane, Failsworth, 7pm.

TASTY, local produce including cheese, meats, cakes and more will be available at the return of the monthly Farmers’ Market on Saturday (9am-4pm) and on Sunday (10.30am-4pm) at Daisy Nook Garden Centre car park, Stannybrook Road. The market will be held on the first weekend of each month until October.
JOIN Failsworth Townwomen’s Guild on Tuesday, May 7, for their regular monthly meeting at Failsworth Town Hall, Oldham Road, 7.30-10pm. Visitors and new members welcome.
GREEN-FINGERED residents can enter this year’s Failsworth in Bloom competition run by the Failsworth Carnival Committee. The categories are private gardens, community gardens and container/hanging baskets. Winners receive £50 in National Garden Centre vouchers. Closing date for entry is July 1.
