Lights switch-on

SEE Manchester City mascots Moonbeam and Moonchester switch on the Failsworth lights at 7pm on Friday.
There will be a rock choir, carol service, Santa’s grotto and much more at St John’s Church, Church Street, as well as rides for children in the car park.
GET in to the festive spirit by seeing a floral demonstration tomorrow at Holy Family Church, in Roman Road. Kathleen Williams, from the Oldham Floral Art Society, will be putting on a Christmas themed display at 1.30pm. Entrance is £2.50, which includes refreshments. There will be a raffle, floral prize and more.
ENJOY a free cuppa over a one-hour talk about all aspects of gardening at the Daisy Nook Garden Centre tomorrow, from 10 to 11am. Meet some new people and get some great gardening ideas and tips. The group meets on the first Wednesday of every month. For more information, call 0161-308 3909.
COME along and meet other local childminders and share your experiences at the drop-in sessions on Thursday, from 9.30am to 12.30pm, at the Failsworth Children’s Centre, in Propps Hall Drive.
