Blue Christmas

CHRISTMAS can often be a painful time for some who face this period without their loved ones.
The Roman Road Independent Methodist Church is offering a special “Blue Christmas” service tonight, from 7.30pm. Join others for a short service to share prayers, scripture and music. All are welcome.
GENEROUS residents helped raise £211 towards the Failsworth Carnival team, which took Santa around various streets in Failsworth earlier this month.
PUT the coffee on for the midnight mass service which takes place at St Margaret’s Church, Chapel Road, on Christmas Eve. And on Sunday, you can sing along to the carolling from 3pm.
PROUD parents can watch their children at St John’s Church Christingle service on Christmas Eve, from 4pm. The church is also holding midnight mass from 11.30pm, followed by a drink and a mince pie, and on Christmas Day there is a 9am morning service at the Oldham Road church.
TUCK into a hearty Christmas Day lunch at the Salvation Army Church on Oldham Road. All are welcome. For more information call 0161-682 0070.
IT’S back to the 1980s at the Dunamis Christian Church’s new year’s eve fancy dress party. The evening kicks off at 6pm. Tickets cost £5 for adults and £2.50 for children. For more information call the Thorley Street church on 0161-219 1611.
