The Buzzcocks.
NEWS has just reached us that one of Manchester's most iconic bands ever - the Buzzcocks - are heading to town.
The legendary outfit - fronted by original members Pete Shelley and (former Oldhamer) Steve Diggle - have been secured by Pop Up Promotions to play at the Uppermill Civic Hall on Friday, July 21.
To get a band of the Buzzcocks' stature means so much for the local music scene, and the show will be a guaranteed sell-out. Pop Up chief Tim Simpson certainly put the work in to secure the gig.
He told us: "It's been hard work, but everything is agreed now and fans are in for a special night. The Buzzcocks are undoubtedly the most influential Manchester band - they have inspired so many."
Tickets will be available shortly from https://pop-up.ticketlight.co.uk. Watch this space.
