SHIMMERING in the evening sunshine . . . the girls in all their gowns.

Royton and Crompton School pupils dressed to impress when they held their summer prom at the Hotel Smokies Park at Bardsley.

The teenagers sparkled and shone as they celebrated the end of five years at the Blackshaw Lane school. Teachers joined in, and not to be outdone by the girls, smart boys even wore a kilt and white tie and tails.
