Premier league celebration
Date published: 14 July 2011
Students were in the premier league when they headed to Manchester’s great football rivals to celebrate their end-of-school proms.
The youngsters from Oldham Academy North, based at Rochdale Road, Oldham, opted for the blue side as they partied at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.
Their uniforms were swapped for smart suits and colourful gowns, and top-of-the-range cars were called on to transport the teenagers to the venue.
The students from the Butterworth Lane campus of the Oasis Academy Oldham got the taste of a footballer’s A-list lifestyle on the red side of the city.
They rocked up in hot wheels —including a Porsche — for their school prom at Manchester United’s Old Trafford ground.
Red carpet fashions were on show as pupils partied in the Stretford Suite.
