THIS is the life: Ken Chaplin relaxes on his trike.
MEMBERS of Road Wizards Bike Club have proved they are rebels with a cause.
Visitors to Saddleworth Rangers ARLFC were certainly given a taste of the fast lane as more than 300 bikes went on display.
The Greenfield-based group could hardly believe the success of the show which saw hundreds of petrol-heads race through the gates.
Money raised from the fourth annual event goes to helping the club’s chosen charity, Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Bikes from rare Harley Davidsons, gleaming V-Twin Cruisers and other vehicles were pitted against each other in competition at the Shaw Hall Bank Road ground. Organiser Steve “Spud” Garratt (45) said: “People have been riding in from far and wide and the show is becoming more popular year on year.
“The club provided a new lease of life for me and when we are out on the road, you learn a lot more from other bikers. You become a lot more safer as well.”
The accelerated fun for all the family was not just linked to the bikes, with two live bands also performing to the crowds.
