MUSIC EXTRA: ANOTHER hectic weekend beckons at Whittle’s on King Street, Oldham.
Brilliant Led Zeppelin, Rush and Deep Purple cover band Hold Your Fire feature on New Year’s Eve, then on January 2 punters can see the hugely popular Tony Auton Band. Check ticket availability ahead of both nights by logging on to the Whittle’s Facebook page or at www.whittles-oldham.com.
NEWLY-FORMED Oldham foursome Shadow Palace have released a new track on to their SoundCloud page — “Put Out The Fire”. The alternative rockers, featuring Harry Lavin, Ben Warwick, Dan Gaunt and Danny Walsh, only formed in November but have already vowed to make a big impact on the Oldham scene in 2016.
A TERRIFIC night of folk and fun is in prospect at the Q Inn, Stalybridge, tomorrow night as Saddleworth singer-songwriting duo Wilson and McGladdery feature on the latest “Acoustic Eclectic” bill.
Self-proclaimed folk ’n’ roller Paul McGladdery forms half of the talented duo who are sure to go down a storm at the latest gig being put together by Mossley muso Jon Orpheus. The night gets underway at 8.30pm.
