MUSIC EXTRA: A corker of a night for local music fans is in prospect at Oldham’s Whittles venue on February 13.
Revolution Radio will stage its second Revolution Live showcase at the popular town centre haunt, and all three bands on the bill are from the town.
As well as top DJ sets from Inspiral Carpets legend Clint Boon and club king Dave Sweetmore, there will be appearances from town leading lights Ok Broken, 5ft Fez and exciting new outfit Shadow Palace.
Sweetmore, the now famous Rochdale FC matchday MC and Revolution regular, said: “There will be three absolutely top local bands playing this time and it’s going to be great to see Clint back in his home town.”
Ok Broken made great strides in 2015 and are bidding for national glory this Saturday as they feature in the Soundwaves talent competition final at the O2 Academy in Leeds.
Royton mod hopefuls 5ft Fez also enjoyed a great 2015, during which they released a terrific EP — ‘Watch Me Fall’ — and played numerous high-profile gigs, including two packed-out dates at the Hard Rock Cafe in central Manchester.
Shadow Palace have only recently formed, combining members of the Velocetas and the Frakes.
