Date published: 01 March 2016
FOLLOWING on from the huge success of the “Music Complete” album, which featured high in the 2015 end-of-year lists, New Order start 2016 as they mean to carry on.
The band have announced full details for the latest single to be taken from the album, and “Singularity” will feature a host of exclusive remixes alongside an extended rework.
Alongside the new single, there is also news of an exclusive competition for fans to contribute to the Singularity website.
Over the past few months, artists and other creatives who have been impacted by the band’s output have been contributing to the website gallery ‘Singularity: the influence of New Order’ in the form of essays, artwork, cover versions, playlists and more.
The site is now open for more contributions as fans from all walks of life are invited to create something that shows how the band has influenced their life. All creative formats are welcome.
The top five most interesting contributions received will be featured on the Singularity website permanently.
Anyone wishing to enter should email their contribution to: neworder@mute.com before the March 11 closing date.
Artists already featured on Singularity include Hot Chip, Alison Goldfrapp, John Grant, Interpol, La Roux, Trentemøller, Will Broome, Algiers, Irvine Welsh, Robert Smith from The Cure and Factory Floor.
New Order are also returning to the live circuit once again, having completed an overwhelmingly successful set of dates in 2015.
They are confirmed for a string of European festival dates, in addition to a special one-off show at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl on July 9.
What an occasion that promises to be for all fans of the Manchester legends.
