SPELL ON THE SIDELINES BECKONS: Oldham head coach Scott Naylor.
OLDHAM are looking for additional coaching support for the next two weeks because head coach Scott Naylor has been banned from the touchline by the Rugby Football League.
In his fifth season at Oldham, the former Salford, Bradford Bulls and England centre faces a five-match touchline ban, but three of them are suspended until the end of 2018.
An RFL Operational Rules Tribunal, attended by Naylor and his club chairman Chris Hamilton, found the Roughyeds coach guilty of using foul and abusive language towards multiple match officials during Oldham's 26-10 win against Sheffield Eagles at Bower Fold on the opening day of the Kingstone Press Championship season.
He has to pay a suspended fine of £125 from a previous case, plus £450 in investigation costs. He has 14 days to submit an appeal.
Naylor was found to have breached the following Rugby Football League Operational Rules -
Operational Rule D1.1 (b) - conduct prejudicial to the interests of the game / improper conduct.
Operational Rule C2.6 - failure to adhere to Codes of Conduct.
Operational Rule C2.10 - Standards of Behaviour.
The Rugby Football League's Respect Policy.
B5.4 of the Match Day Operations Manual.
Naylor had no comment to make, but club chairman Hamilton said: "Scott and I attended an Operational Rules Tribunal in respect of matters arising from the first game of the season against Sheffield.
"The outcome has been given in a media release by the RFL.
"We have taken steps as a club, and with Scott, to try to make sure it doesn't happen again. We will make arrangements for the next two weeks to bring in coaching support, and we move on."
