THE SECOND automatic promotion spot is the main focus in National League Two as the end of the 2008 season approaches.
Gateshead Thunder are in pole position to pick up the title, as the Dan Russell-inspired outfit having just three matches left — Blackpool at home, Workington away, Doncaster at home — and three points from each will confirm both the divisional trophy and a place in NL1 next year.
Second-placed Barrow face Oldham at Boundary Park on Sunday, prior to a tricky home test against Keighley the following week and a last-day clash at Doncaster.
Following tonight's game at the Keepmoat and Sunday's home encounter against the Raiders, the remaining fixture list has Oldham travelling to Swinton before taking on Workington at home on the final day of the regular season.
OLDHAM hooker Matty Brooks and centre Marcus St Hilaire have both been named in Rugby League World's unofficial NL2 team of the month.
In League Weekly's official NL2 line-up for July, Brooks is once again in at number nine, joined by full-back Paul O'Connor and second row Danny Halliwell.
Tonight’s opponents Doncaster have two representatives in the unofficial team, winger Wayne Reittie and centre Zeb Luisi.
