OLDHAM are on a collision course with Doncaster in the National League Two play-off semi-finals.

The South Yorkshire outfit moved into fourth place above Keighley Cougars and York City Knights after a 40-20 defeat of Barrow last night.

Just two points separated the two teams with 10 minutes to go — the scoreline was 22-20 — but the home side stormed clear to run out impressive winners over Raiders, who finished runners-up behind champions Gateshead Thunder.

Keighley will reclaim fourth spot if they take a point at London Skolars on Friday night, but victory for Doncaster against Hunslet Hawks on Sunday will mean they will visit Boundary Park on Sunday, September 14.

Ben Seru apart — the winger is recovering from knee reconstruction surgery which will keep him out for between six and nine months — Roughyeds coach Steve Deakin could have up to 23 players available for the semi-final.

Oldham officials are hopeful that Ian Hodson will be fit if he continues his current rate of recovery from an arm injury sustained in the 40-16 triumph over Workington Town at the weekend.

He suffered muscle and ligament damage in the first half and is undergoing treatment from the club’s physio.

FLYING winger Rod Jensen returns to Australia tomorrow with a medal after signing off his English career by helping Huddersfield win the inaugural Carnegie Floodlit Nines.

The 29–year–old former North Queensland Cowboy, who has been released by the Giants, was given the honour of stepping up to receive the trophy from RFL president Kevin Nicholas after a 20–4 win over Challenge Cup finalists Hull at Headingley last night.

Full–back Leroy Cudjoe was the Giants’ hero with a hat–trick of tries in the final to clinch the player–of–the–tournament award.
