ROUGHYEDS pair Jason Boults and Gareth Langley will see specialists today as the club attempts to get to the bottom of their niggling, long-term injuries.
Prop forward Boults has been playing recently with heavy strapping around a knee injury sustained during the televised victory over this weekend’s opponents Doncaster eight weeks ago.
An initial scan failed to detect any significant damage, but the problem continues to fail to respond to treatment.
The 25-year-old ex-Halifax man has only missed one game this season due to the problem — the 30-28 home win over Keighley — and he could still be available for the Boundary Park clash on Sunday.
Langley has a long-standing shoulder injury that has caused him difficulty during games. The winger will have a scan to determine whether he needs an operation, which would also affect his employment as a scaffolder.
Tommy Goulden, troubled by ligament damage in his foot, is back in training though at this stage it is too early to know whether he will be fit to return for the National League Two play-off game.
But other injury victims Craig Littler, Mick Nanyn, Matty Brooks, Phil Joseph and James Coyle are all back in contention for a place in coach Steve Deakin’s squad.
The referee for the match-up with Ellery Hanley’s side is Super League official Ben Thaler.
Tonight’s action pairs the two National League One sides granted three-year Super League licenses from next season against each other, as Celtic Crusaders travel to Salford for the right to progress straight through to the NL1 Grand Final.
