THE Roughyeds' work in the community was in full swing during the recent schools' half-term holiday, when club skipper Rob 'Two Bobs' Roberts held a 'Rugby Fun and Fitness' programme for children aged eight to 16 at the Honeywell Centre, Ashton Road, Oldham.
The event was well attended by both boys and girls and was voted a big hit, with Rob continuing the work he has been doing in local schools for several months.
The many children who attended were from the local community in the Hathershaw-Fitton Hill areas, plus others from the local amateur clubs such as Oldham St Anne's, Fitton Hill Bulldogs and Waterhead.
Roary the Roughyed, the Oldham RL Club's mascot, put in a guest appearance on the Friday.
