CHRIS HAMILTON: “Really pleasing.”
OLDHAM Roughyeds officials are delighted with the response to the prize offer detailed in yesterday’s Chronicle, which resulted in the most money taken in terms of season ticket sales for the new club in a single day.
Up for grabs for the winner is a ride for eight people to the club’s opening game of the season, the Northern Rail Cup clash at home to Rochdale Hornets at Boundary Park on Sunday, February 8, plus use of the pay bar at the ground on the day and a meal at Mario’s Pizzeria on Yorkshire Street after the match.
Everyone who has bought a season ticket up to the now-extended discount deadline of New Year’s Eve will be entered into the prize draw and the hope is that the new incentive will help draw in the biggest supporter base in recent seasons for the club’s promotion bid.
“It is really pleasing, particularly given the current economic climate,” said Roughyeds chief executive Chris Hamilton, who stressed that the draw is open to everyone who has already purchased a season ticket for next year as well as new customers.
“We took the decision to extend the deadline for season tickets and to incorporate the offer into that, to give further opportunities for supporters to take advantage of the discounts on offer.”
The ticket office on Lansdowne Road is now open today, tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday with the regular hours of 9am to 5pm, and on Christmas Eve from 9am until noon.
After Christmas, it will open on December 29 and 30, both 9am to 5pm, and on New Year’s Eve from 9am until noon.
