EVERY one of Oldham’s new boys will get a run-out against Huddersfield Giants on Friday night.
That is the promise of Roughyeds coach Tony Benson, as his charges prepare to get the first pre-season game under their belts.
It means that all 11 fresh faces — Thomas Coyle, Gary Sykes, Andy Ballard, Craig Robinson, Paul Highton, Paul Reilly, Wayne Kerr, Dave Allen, Lee Greenwood, Jamie I’Anson and David McKay — are to turn out under the Boundary Park lights for the visit of the Super League side.
“All the new players will make debuts for the club and I am looking forward to seeing them all in an Oldham shirt for the first time, as I am sure the supporters are too,” said Roughyeds chief executive Chris Hamilton.
“It will be good for them, after all the pre-season work that has been done, to get a game under their belts and to show Tony Benson and the fans what they can do.”
Meanwhile, Leeds Rhinos coach Brian McClennan, who brings his team to Boundary Park for a friendly with the Roughyeds next month, has agreed a one-year extension to his contract which will keep him at the Super League club until the end of the 2010 season.
PLACES are available in the Boundary Park hospitality suite on Friday night (£30 a head) for the Huddersfield game.
The price includes pre-match meal, use of a pay bar, viewing from an executive box and all the usual hospitality features. To book, call the Roughyeds office on (0161) 628 3677.
