LEEDS Rhinos will NOT be visiting Boundary Park next week, after Oldham were forced to rearrange the weekend’s postponed Rochdale game.
The Hornets clash in the Northern Rail Cup is now set to be played on Wednesday, February 18 (7.45pm kick off), a day after the Leeds game was scheduled to take place.
Roughyeds officials are now working on fixing up a new date for the visit of the Super League champions.
The postponement of yesterday’s game came about as a result of an inspection on Friday afternoon, when it was decided that with temperatures set to dip below freezing across the weekend, there was no prospect of the playing surface being fit for action.
The hope is that the Oldham squad will be able to get some outdoor training sessions under their belts this week, before the team visits Championship side Widnes for the Friday night encounter at the Stobart Stadium.
Meanwhile, former Roughyeds winger Daryl Cardiss has rejoined his former club Batley Bulldogs. The 31-year-old Cardiss had his contract at Oldham terminated in December of last year for undisclosed disciplinary reasons.
