TONY Benson has paid tribute to the travelling hordes of Roughyeds fans present at Hunslet.
The Roughyeds coach was impressed with the loud support offered to his side during the 32-14 victory at the South Leeds Stadium, saying: “I want to acknowledge the level of support we received. It was great and it wasn’t just the fact that the fans travelled in numbers, but that they were really vocal too.
“The boys commented on it afterwards and it helped to lift us.”
Duo seek to qualify
BARROW take on Widnes at home tonight (7.30pm kick off) in a rearranged Northern Rail Cup pool one clash with a place in the quarter-finals at stake.
Oldham and Halifax have already qualified for the last eight from the same pool. Should Barrow win at Craven Park, they will qualify along with Widnes, though Keighley and Blackpool still harbour hopes of making it.
