OLDHAM’S attractive friendly against Leeds Rhinos is still on the radar.

The match with the reigning engage Super League champions has been postponed on two occasions, but Roughyeds officials are working feverishly to make sure it does eventually go ahead.

The pre-season clash was part of the deal which included Leeds captain Kevin Sinfield’s testimonial game last season.

Oldham have given Leeds options regarding a new date and they are now waiting for a reply from the Headingley outfit.

Roughyeds chief executive Chris Hamilton said: “It was called off because of the weather the first time and we had to play Rochdale Hornets in the National Rail Cup on the second occasion after the original game was postponed.

“It’s important we do get it played because of those fans who took up the special ticket offer, which incorporated both Leeds and Huddersfield Giants matches. Those tickets will still be valid.”

Meanwhile, with the exception of Ireland international Stevie Gibbons, who is recovering from a shoulder injury, Tony Benson can call upon a fully fit squad for Sunday’s Co-operative Championship one game at Keighley Cougars.

Marcus St Hilaire has missed the last two games because of a hip problem, but came through training on Tuesday and is available for the trip to Cougar Park.

A SUPPORTERS bus to Keighley on Sunday leaves the social club at 1pm and the Black Horse at 1.15pm. Cost £10. Ring Joyce on 665 1832 or Janet on 628 3677.
