DEWSBURY will not go the season unbeaten, predicts Roughyeds chairman Bill Quinn.

The Co-operative Championship One front-runners have yet to be defeated in the league, winning five from five including the recent 36-12 victory over Oldham at Boundary Park.

With only one automatic promotion spot available, the Rams are clear favourites at this stage to land it.

Quinn, though, points to the experiences of Barrow last season to illustrate just how competitive a division this is and remains confident the Roughyeds can yet pip their rivals to top spot.

“Anyone who is sure that Dewsbury will go through the season unbeaten should look at that example of Barrow last year.

“They started off the season winning 13 games in a row and must have been thinking at this stage of not losing a game all year. Then they ended up losing six out of their last nine.

“It has been shown in this league time and again that anyone can beat anyone else and I am sure that Dewsbury will drop points.

“I would also like to think that we have dropped all ours now, but we have to take it a game at a time.”
