THOMAS COYLE played a full part in last night’s training session and the scrum-half now looks set to make next week’s big game at York.

The 21-year-old’s special ankle support has enabled the younger of the Coyle brothers to join in with the rest of Tony Benson’s squad.

Captain Robert Roberts went in for a scan on his injured knee yesterday but the results were unclear and the machine then broke down on the second attempt, meaning he will try again today. He has been unable to run with the rest of the squad this week.

Of Benson’s first-team squad members, Luke Sutton and Wayne Kerr will both play for the reserves side which travels to play Whitehaven tomorrow (2.30pm).

New signing Benji Lloyd makes his debut and it is the last game of Matty Ashe’s current loan spell.

Barrow have made it through to the final of the Northern Rail Cup.

The Cumbrian side beat Oldham’s conquerers Featherstone Rovers 16-10 at Craven Park, with hooker Andrew Ellis scoring two tries.

Rovers led the game with only four minutes remaining before Ellis ran in his second, with Darren Holt adding a conversion and a late penalty.

Barrow will face the winners of Sunday’s Halifax-Widnes tie in the July final in Blackpool.
