A THIRD victory of the season provided plenty of satisfaction for reserves team boss John Hough.
York's second team were put to the sword 52-10 at Sedgley Park — at least partially avenging the first team's narrow loss against the Knights last week — and the continuing progress of a promising young group of players is clear to see.
"We bounced back and did what we needed to," said Hough, who had watched his side fall to a 50-18 loss up at Whitehaven.
"We stood up well and I am pleased with the way the lads responded to falling to a heavy defeat by inflicting one on York."
Hough is no longer being assisted by the now-departed Leo Casey but is happy with the current set-up, which has his cousin Chris providing some much-needed nous at scrum-half out on the field.
"Chris (Hough) again guided the team around the park well and Jamie Knight came up with a hat-trick of tries for us.
"We are now getting that consistency that we have been trying to achieve, right across the board."
The next game in on Saturday, July 4 (2.30pm kick off), with Whitehaven the visitors to Sedgley Park in the reserve team first division.
