A SECOND half recovery wasn’t quite enough to help Oldham’s reserves land a fourth victory of the season at Sedgley Park on Saturday afternoon.
John Hough’s men, trailing 20-8 at the interval, produced a rally which saw them score three tries to visiting Dewsbury’s one after the break.
Howver, the Rams still sneaked home 26-24 at Sedgley Park.
Centre Jamie Knight got both Oldham tries in the first half and after half-back pair Chris Hough and Matty Ashes — the latter performing 18th man duties for the first team a day later — gained control on the back of an improved pack performance, further tries followed for Jamie Harrison, Darrel Rowlands and Ashe.
Oldham: Ross Coates; Darrel Rowlands, Michael Ward, Jamie Knight, Jamie Harrison; Chris Hough, Matty Ashe; Alex Eyres, Todd O’Brien, Jacob Kinney, Michael Arrowsmith, Mark Smith, Austin Barraclough. Subs: Dale Lowe, Danny Knight, Declan Foy, Simon Moores.
