OLDHAM reserves play out their final home game of the season tonight at Sedgley Park, with Keighley Cougars the visitors (7.30pm kick off).
Coach John Hough is hopeful his side can sign off the campaign with a bang in front of Roughyeds supporters, with only away matches at Barrow, Leigh and York left.
“We have lost the last two matches by only two points, against Dewsbury and Widnes,” said Hough.
“Again, it is part of our learning curve. We need to find out how to come out on top in games like these rather than ending up on the losing side.
“At the same time, I would rather be running them close than not.
“I think we have improved from last year and it has been pleasing to see players like Ben Heaton and Matty Ashe make the progression to the first team. It is my job to push players through along that route.
“Keighley have got a good base, with an under-18s side linked to them and lads progressing through.
“We played them three weeks ago and it was another game we could have won, so we will be aiming to give it our all again.”
