Oldham spice up their season

OLDHAM RL fans will have the chance to “curry favour” with their heroes at a meet-the-players night in a Chadderton restaurant on Tuesday, August 25.
As part of the club's build-up to the forthcoming Co-operative Championship One play-offs, coach Tony Benson and commercial manager Julie Cleave have arranged the get-together for fans and players at Delight Spice, the restaurant in Peel Street, Chadderton (OL9 9LH) where the players have dined previously.
Said Tony: “It will be an opportunity for players and supporters to socialise and to get to know each other personally as we look ahead towards the play-offs and the final push towards promotion.
“Malik, who runs Delight Spice, has been hugely supportive in his efforts to help and I know we’ll all have a lot of fun together in relaxed, comfortable surroundings.
“The full squad will be there and there will be players at each table. There is also plenty of room to socialise and a nice bar so this is a good opportunity for everybody to get together and to enjoy a great night.”
Cost is £10 a head for a choice of set menus. Tickets, available now, must be purchased in advance either from the restaurant (tel: 0161 628 5478) or from the Roughyeds office in Lansdowne Road, Chadderton (tel: 0161 628 3677). Numbers are limited so early ticket purchase is advised.
The event is timed at 7.30pm for a 7.45pm start.
Added Tony: “Our regular supporters have backed us brilliantly all season and I know the players will really enjoy this opportunity to socialise with them. We believe the fans will be up for it too.”
