ROUGHYEDS have slashed the price of 2010 season tickets to £100, promising fans a full refund if they are not happy with the club’s home venue when it is revealed.

Chairman Chris Hamilton has sent a letter out to all season ticket holders from last season, outlining the club’s plans to secure a home venue within the borough and urging fans to get behind the club sooner rather than later as it bids to build a stable future.

“Since the take-over of the club was completed there has been significant expenditure to the Inland Revenue and, like most clubs, the off-season presents its own problems with cash flow as the team is not playing,” the letter reads.

“Fans will be very much aware of our ongoing discussions with various parties to hopefully secure a playing base within the town and with this in mind, we are hoping that for the 2010 season we can attract more people to buy season tickets.”

Tickets are available from today at the club’s offices on Lansdowne Road, Chadderton, with prices for a total of 12 home matches — nine in Co-operative Championship One, two in the Northern Rail Cup and the third-round Carnegie Challenge Cup tie — as follows:

Adults £100; Concessions (OAPs and full-time students with valid ID) £80; under-16s £40.

The under-16s ticket also gains admission to away matches in the league and NRC.

Once the home venue is unveiled, the club will hold two open days, one for season ticket holders and one for other fans, in order that supporters can decide if they want to upgrade to a seat for an additional £10 a season.

“We really do need the money that season tickets can generate, not least because the club still has debts it needs to sort out and we are several weeks behind our usual schedules anyway because of unavoidable delays caused by the restructuring of the club,” said Chris Hamilton, who is set to reveal more signings to the squad later this week.

The current prices will only remain until noon on Christmas Eve and the club office can be contacted on (0161) 628 3677.
