CRAIG ROBINSON has become the latest Roughyeds star to affirm his commitment to the club for the 2010 season.

The 23-year-old, equally at home at prop forward or second row, was a consistent performer in Tony Benson’s line-up last season and played a big role in helping the club reach the Co-operative Championship One play-off final.

Having signed a new one-year deal, the former Wakefield and Rochdale player will hope to go one better this time around.

“Craig is another experienced player,” said Roughyeds chairman Chris Hamilton. “He has good utility value and can play in a couple of positions.

“He gives 100-per-cent in everything he does, as was shown by him breaking his hand in training towards the end of last season.

“Craig only knows one way, be it in training or matches, and we are delighted to have him back.”

Robinson suffered his broken hand in the build-up to the Hunslet play-off clash in September and a subsequent operation has seen three screws inserted in the affected area.

He is now back in full training along with the rest of Benson’s squad, who have their first pre-season run-out on Sunday, January 3, as the team makes the short trip to Spotland to take on Rochdale in the Law Cup.
