OLDHAM Roughyeds will be selling tickets in advance for ALL games at their new Whitebank Stadium home, kicking off with this Sunday’s visit of London Skolars.
The plan worked well for the first game against York and it will remain in place all season to ease congestion on the two turnstiles.
Tickets for each home game will be on sale at £10 (adults), £8 (concessions) and £3 (under-16s) from the club’s offices in Lansdowne Road, Chadderton from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and also from 1pm in the clubhouse at Whitebank on each match day.
The attendance of 1,110 for the York game was more than double this season’s average over the previous five home games at Sedgley Park — two in the Northern Rail Cup, two in Championship One and one in the Carnegie Challenge Cup.
“We got a lot of positive feedback from fans about how much we had improved Whitebank,” said chairman Chris Hamilton.
“Work is still going on — and will be for some time — and fans will continue to see a difference each week.”
Saturday’s home reserve team game against Sheffield is off at Sheffield’s request and rearranged for Saturday, June 12.
The reserves will now make their Whitebank bow against Featherstone next Wednesday (8pm kick off). Admission prices £4 adults, £2 concessions, free for under-16s. Seats will be available at no extra charge.
The clubhouse will be open, car parking will cost £1 and fans are asked to avoid street parking. The area will not be coned for reserve-team games, but the club says this is all the more reason why fans should use the official car parks to avoid inconveniencing local residents.
