Pies the limit for Roughyeds
Date published: 13 May 2010
HOLLAND’S Pies have scored a winning goal with Oldham Roughyeds . . . by sponsoring the rugby posts at the club’s new home at Whitebank Stadium.
The ‘Holland’s Hs’, as they will be known, will carry crossbar branding and will get a mention over the public address system every time Roughyeds land a conversion, a penalty or a drop goal.
“The ‘Hs’ are a significant symbol in rugby as well as in Holland’s Pies. It seems a great idea to put them together,” said Gary Brooks, the company’s stadia sales manager.
Holland’s will supply Roughyeds with pies as part of the two-year deal.
Gary has watched several Oldham games this season, including last Sunday’s first at Whitebank, and says he is becoming quite a fan.
He added: “This is a big year for both Hollands and the Roughyeds, and we are delighted to be working as partners.
“We are also proud to be extending our partnership with Roughyeds at such an exciting time for the club.
“I’m really taken on by what the are doing at Whitebank to build a home there and to take the club forward. There’s a buzz around the place and its obvious that it means a lot to the supporters.”
