David Ford's painting, available as a print
ROUGHYEDS ROUND UP:
DAVID Ford of Saddleworth, who painted the popular 'Sunset on Watersheddings' picture 18 months ago, has produced a limited edition print of the historic first game at Whitebank Stadium versus York City Knights.
he 'Sunset on Watersheddings' prints sold out quickly and the club expects the follow-up Whitebank prints to prove equally as popular.
"I enjoyed the challenge,” said Ford. “It was amazing how much work went on down there in such a short time.
"I based the print on the players coming out of the tunnel. I saw a mill chimney and a row of houses which were not dissimilar to Herbert Street at Watersheddings, so I included those to get some sort of continuinty from one ground to the other."
Selling at £40, they can be pre-booked by ringing the club on 628 3677.
