OLDHAM prop forward Luke Sutton may need to see a specialist to get to the bottom of his knee injury.
Sutton performed strongly off the bench in the wins at Workington and at home to Blackpool before complaining of problems with the knee, forcing him out of the side which beat Doncaster two weeks ago.
It was thought he may have damaged ligaments, but since then the injury has responded to rest and rehab.
It remains to be seen whether the time-out will be enough to see him back in the line-up for Oldham's next game, at Gateshead on Sunday, July 4.
Other players who have been carrying knocks are also getting the benefit from the break in fixtures.
Martin Roden (ankle), Wayne Kerr (shoulder), Craig Robinson (groin) and Ben Heaton (thumb) are all expected to be cleared by the time the team travels to Gateshead.
