KEEN Oldham Roughyeds fan Paul Whalley is rallying the help of supporters to raise funds for the club.
He has called an open meeting at the Whitebank Stadium tomorrow week at 8pm to discuss the formation of an Independent Supporters' Association.
Head coach Tony Benson has been invited and he is expected to be there along with some players.
A leaflet advertising the meeting was handed out to fans as they passed through the turnstiles at Whitebank for last Sunday's game against Swinton Lions.
Said Paul: "Fans did a lot of work on the ground to make sure Whitebank was ready for our first game there against York City Knights and I'm sure a lot of them would be happy to work on fund-raising for much-needed equipment.
"First team and reserves are both enjoying lots of success in their respective leagues and we have a chance of promotion to the Championship.
"If the team is to keep on moving onwards and upwards, however, the club needs our support not only on match days, but throughout the year.”
